Breaking News: Introverted, broke college student makes a semi-unrealistic vision board for 2023

For the first time ever, I've created my very own 2023 vision board. There are things pictured which are 100% happening, others that perhaps never will, and the best part: I'm not revealing which are which.

From shifting friend groups to brave hairstyles, blossoming relationships to long-anticipated family trips, from breaking habits to creating new ones--2023 has a lot in store for me.

Some things I don't mind revealing:

-read even more books than I did this year

-to do something crazy or drastic to my appearance

-become more outgoing: meet new people, strengthen current relationships, etc

-grow familiarity with my own independence (living in an apartment next year w friends)

-FAMILY TRIPS :))))))) expanding my horizons and staying conscious of my privilege to do so

While only displayed in a mere collage of a few Pinterest images, my intentions are clear to me and this process continually strengthened my expectations for the coming year. I've always been wary of the trendy "vision boards" because I worry that I won't be able to fulfill my hopes and dreams I've set for myself. But I realized that a vision board doesn't have to be a checklist or a manifestation tactic, but a fun outlet for self care. It is important to prioritize the side of your mental health which dwells on your passions, hobbies, dreams, beliefs. You deserve to be understood and listened to, even if the only person available to do so is yourself. Listen to your heart, set boundaries, plan uncomfortable outings, spoil yourself!

Plus, by the end of this process, you have a really cutesy screen saver!

How do you feel about vision boards?

  • Love them! Made a few before & plan on making another

  • No idea, but would be interested in making one

  • They're nice, but I don't think they're for me.
